Description
The County of San Diego Department of Public Works is soliciting bids for as-needed disposal of roadside refuse, general waste, green waste, street sweepings, channel and dredging debris, burn ash, and other special waste. The contractor must provide labor, transportation, supervision, disposal, pickup and drop-off of 25- and 40-cubic-yard bins, five-axle end-dump trucks with drivers when requested, equipment cleaning and maintenance, and disposal at available landfills. Services will be ordered through task orders and performed at designated County road-station locations, with emergency response available during declared emergencies. The initial contract term is one year with four one-year options, plus possible incremental extensions of one to six months. The contractor must respond to routine service requests within one business day and perform service within two business days of acknowledgment; emergency requests require a response within one hour and dispatch within two hours. Bidders must submit the required County forms and completed payment schedule, comply with applicable waste, licensing, emissions, and fleet requirements, and provide required insurance coverage, including commercial general liability, automobile liability, workers’ compensation/employer’s liability, and contractors’ pollution liability.
