Description
The City of Huntsville is soliciting sealed bids for restoration of the half-million-gallon welded-steel ground storage tank at 3391 Autumn Road. The work includes abrasive blasting and preparation of interior and exterior steel surfaces; removal and containment of coating debris; minor structural repairs, including pit and pinhole welding; installation of an interior ladder and cable-style safety-climb system; and application of specified potable-water-approved interior and exterior coating systems. The contractor must provide labor, supervision, materials, equipment, shrouding, ventilation, dehumidification, lighting, containment, waste handling, quality control, inspections, and site cleanup. The contractor must submit pricing on the provided price chart for rafter replacement, roof vents, pit and pinhole repairs, blasting labor, blasting materials, and the grand total, along with the number of calendar days required after award. Interior work includes disinfection and bacteriological acceptance testing, while the coating system carries a one-year warranty and an approximately 11.5-month warranty inspection. The solicitation requires a 10% bid bond, and the successful contractor must provide a full-amount payment bond after City Council approval. The bid package also requires evidence of insurability, at least three recent business references, and completion of the solicitation certification and required Texas verification forms.
