Description
Wayne County is soliciting competitive offers for fresh bread and bakery products for the Wayne County Nursing Home and Rehab Center, with potential use by other County facilities. Required products include sliced whole-grain white and wheat bread, Italian and rye bread, cinnamon-raisin bread, hamburger and hot dog rolls, dinner rolls, and additional items such as bagels, English muffins, Kaiser rolls, submarine rolls, and gluten-free products. Vendors may also offer catalog or price-list discounts for unlisted products. Products must be fresh rather than frozen, meet specified packaging, labeling, nutrition, freshness, shelf-life, weight, and ingredient requirements, and generally be delivered within seven calendar days of order. Deliveries may be required up to twice weekly, including coordination around holidays, and must be made to the County's designated facilities without leaving products outside. The solicitation permits manufacturers or authorized representatives and evaluates cost, delivery capability, product variety, service reliability and past performance, and food-safety controls. The resulting contract is for a three-year term with two one-year renewal options.
