Description
The City of Rochester is soliciting a contractor to provide labor, transportation, equipment, materials, furnishing, installation, repair, and general construction services on an as-needed basis at City-controlled buildings and other authorized facilities. Work may include rough and finish carpentry; custom wood and metal structures; walls, drywall, insulation, casework, countertops, siding, trim, decking, ramps, railings, windows, doors and hardware; painting; roofing; signs; gutters; and securing fire-damaged, vacant, or repossessed properties. The contractor must provide qualified crews, including a journeyman carpenter and laborer or apprentice, maintain a 24-hour/7-day emergency board-up capability with a two-hour response time, prepare job cost estimates, obtain required permits, comply with New York prevailing-wage, MWBE, workforce, apprenticeship, safety, and registration requirements, and provide at least five reliable working vehicles. The anticipated annual expenditure is approximately $1,000,000 to $1,800,000, but the contract states that work is not guaranteed and services ordered may not exceed $200,000 without written authorization. A five-percent bid bond and 50-percent performance and payment bonds are required, along with specified insurance coverage.
