Description
The Office for People With Developmental Disabilities, on behalf of the Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities State Operations Office, seeks a contractor to retube a fire-tube boiler at the Powerhouse. The work includes supplying labor and materials; removing, unloading, and disposing of existing tubes; installing replacement tubes; acid washing the new tubes; conducting a 125-psi hydrostatic leak test; attending boiler startup and testing to verify that the newly installed tubes do not leak; and cleaning and securing the site. A boiler technician is not required, and the facility will operate the boiler during startup and acid-wash procedures. The contractor is responsible for unloading delivered tubes and disposing of scrap tubes. Issues outside the retubing scope are the agency's responsibility, although separately invoiced corrective work may be requested. This New York public works project is limited to eligible certified MWBE, SDVOB, or New York State small-business contractors. Certification documentation and a New York State Department of Labor contractor-registration certificate must accompany the quote. References, relevant experience, financial resources, and applicable insurance are required; the agency may request at least three references for different projects of similar scope and size. A mandatory site visit is required, and quotes must be received by the stated deadline.
