Vancouver Coastal Health intends to direct award CANNEPP Boiler Room Technologies to upgrade controls for three existing Cleaver-Brooks CB200-200 firetube hot-water boilers at the Koerner Pavilion on the UBC Hospital campus. The work includes supplying, installing, and commissioning the Cleaver-Brooks HAWK 1000 controls package with precision fuel-air control, oxygen trim, combustion-air variable-speed-drive control, separate burner management, integrated boiler sequencing, and two-boiler lead-lag functionality. The contractor must provide a Cleaver-Brooks factory-certified burner and controls technician to start up, test, demonstrate, and train on-site operators. Deliverables include operation and maintenance manuals, boiler wiring diagrams, startup reports, and inspection certificates. The estimated budget is CAD $220,000–$320,000 plus GST, and completion is required by October 23, 2026. The notice states that CANNEPP is the only authorized Cleaver-Brooks representative in British Columbia and the existing boiler service provider; other contractors may challenge the intended direct award by demonstrating equivalent healthcare-project experience and the ability to meet the technical requirements and schedule.
