Description
The project comprises separate HVAC and electrical trade contracts for refurbishing the boiler plant and replacing the feedwater system at Wallkill Correctional Facility. Bids must be accompanied by bid security of $177,900 for the H trade and $79,300 for the E trade. The estimated contract amounts are $7,000,000–$8,000,000 for H and $2,000,000–$3,000,000 for E. Successful bidders must furnish 100% performance and labor-and-material bonds. The substantial completion date is 688 days after Comptroller approval of the Agreement. The scope includes work described in the project manual, with a single scheduled pre-bid site visit for field measurements and examination of existing conditions. Participation goals are 15% MBE and 15% WBE, with a combined 30% MWBE goal, plus a 3% SDVOB goal for each trade. Electronic bidding, document downloads, and bidder questions are handled through Bid Express and the Office of General Services’ Design and Construction resources.
