Description
This combined Request for Information and Sources Sought notice seeks industry capability statements for the potential future acquisition of one research vessel for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Acoustic Research Detachment. The vessel would replace the aging R/V Chinook and support acoustic testing of towed sonar arrays on Lake Pend Oreille in Bayview, Idaho. The notional vessel is up to 80 feet long with a maximum 22-foot beam, marine diesel propulsion, bow thrusters, speeds ranging from 2 knots minimum to 35 knots maximum transit speed, accommodations for a four-person crew and a staffed computer laboratory, and payload capacity of 30,000 pounds vertically and 20,000 pounds for towing. Requirements also include specialized acoustic isolation and damping, a masker, LiDAR, radar, ADCP, marine radio, intercom, depth sounder, weather station, redundant 40 kW and 60 kW generators, electrical filtering, a four-point mooring system, and a crane port for the computer lab. Respondents must submit organizational information and a tailored capability statement, including any relevant documentation and, where applicable, a plan for significant subcontracting or teaming.
