Spokane Garry Middle School, in compliance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), is informing parents that they may request information about the professional qualifications of their student's teachers and instructional paraprofessionals. The request can include whether teachers have met Washington state certification requirements, if they are teaching under emergency or provisional status, their college major and degrees, and whether paraprofessionals provide services and their qualifications. For paraprofessionals, the school outlines the qualification pathways including high school diploma or GED, two years of higher education, an associate's degree or higher, passing the ETS ParaPro Assessment, or completion of apprenticeship requirements.
