Description
The City of El Cajon is seeking one or two qualified vendors to provide as-needed collision repair services for approximately 350 municipal vehicles and pieces of equipment, including automobiles, SUVs, vans, trucks, emergency vehicles, and specialty fleet equipment. The scope includes damage assessment and estimates; structural and non-structural body repair; frame straightening; refinishing and painting; replacement of body components, glass, decals, and graphics; welding and fabrication; alignments; ADAS calibration; diagnostic scans; EV and hybrid repairs; pickup and delivery when requested; and coordination of approved specialty subcontractors. Vendors must furnish all labor, supervision, parts, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and incidentals necessary to complete authorized repairs. The City requires OEM-compliant repair procedures, secure vehicle storage, qualified technicians, an environmentally compliant paint booth, appropriate welding equipment, quality-control inspections, documented estimates and repair records, status updates, emergency-vehicle prioritization, and a minimum lifetime warranty on workmanship and paint while the City owns the vehicle. The technical proposal is limited to 40 pages and must address qualifications, experience, three comparable client references, facilities and equipment, service-delivery approach, staffing, communication and turnaround, subcontractor management, addenda, and the required proposal forms. A separate cost proposal must be submitted electronically through the designated bidding system.
