Description

New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology is seeking a consultant to support the New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources in developing a statewide Aquifer Monitoring Well Prioritization Project. The work covers compilation and review of hydrologic, geologic, groundwater-monitoring, and water-use data; stakeholder outreach; regional groundwater working groups; development and application of criteria for prioritizing future monitoring-well locations; and regional data-gap analyses. The consultant must prepare feasibility, permitting, implementation, cost, and schedule analyses for ten regions grouped into five regional groups, including consideration of federal, tribal, state, and private lands. Deliverables include regional summaries, recommended monitoring-well sites and criteria, maps and GIS products with metadata, a feasibility and cost matrix, outreach and meeting materials, and a publication-ready statewide monitoring well prioritization report. The project includes up to five virtual and two in-person working-group meetings in Albuquerque, monthly progress reporting, project management, and completion by April 2028. Proposals must address experience in groundwater monitoring, water-resources planning, stakeholder facilitation, and resource assessments, include three current client reference letters, and provide a detailed cost proposal.
