Description
Upper Uwchlan Township is soliciting bids for individual pieces of equipment, with operators, to perform roadway snow removal during the 2026-2027 snow removal season. The primary requested equipment is a 10-ton, 6-cubic-yard dump truck or larger, equipped with a snow plow and tailgate salt spreader; bidders may offer one or more pieces of equipment. The estimated usage is 100 hours per piece, with no guaranteed minimum hours, and equipment must be in good working order, Pennsylvania road legal, and available exclusively to the Township during snow and ice operations. The contractor must respond to service requests and be on site within one hour, maintain cell-phone communications for each vehicle and operator, complete vehicle work sheets and storm reports, and permit temporary GPS tracking during operations. Equipment rates must include an operator; driver overtime is priced separately and applies only after 40 hours of Township work, subject to approval. Contractors are responsible for damage caused by their equipment, including damaged mailboxes and posts. A completed bid schedule and bidder information are required, with a 10% bid bond or certified check submitted with the bid and a 10% performance bond due within 10 days after award.
