Description
The Office of Minority Health (OMH) is announcing funding availability for Fiscal Year 2026 grants under the Center for Indigenous Innovation and Health (CIIH) initiative. This initiative aims to support projects focused on research, education, service, partnership development, and technical assistance to address the chronic disease burden and healthcare access gaps experienced by American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) and Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) populations. Funded projects are expected to implement evidence-based frameworks and community-based strategies to prevent and improve chronic disease outcomes, including obesity, hypertension, and diabetes. Applicants must focus exclusively on one population group (either AI/AN or NHPI) and demonstrate a commitment to culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate services. The OMH encourages collaboration and aims to build community-level data capacity and strengthen cross-sector partnerships to address the root causes of chronic disease.
