Description
The Town of Southbury is soliciting proposals for a Program Partner to support its participation in the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) Sustainable Materials Management Round 2 (SMMR2) Grant Program. The selected partner will assist with planning, implementation, outreach, education, reporting, and data collection related to waste reduction efforts. The grant totals $157,160 across three phases: Phase 1 (Groundwork, $17,000) to understand the town's waste management ecosystem and design a program; Phase 2 (Launch, $105,160) to implement the program and educate residents; and Phase 3 (Monitoring, $35,000) to evaluate results and develop a self-sustaining program. Services may include program planning, public outreach, waste reduction initiatives such as pay-as-you-throw programs, reporting and compliance, and additional support for long-term sustainability.
