Description
The Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) is soliciting proposals from qualified firms for the Olympic Cauldron Relocation and Installation Project at Centennial Olympic Park. This project involves the removal, refurbishment, transportation, and reinstallation of the historic 1996 Olympic Cauldron, along with associated site improvements, utility infrastructure, structural construction, lighting, and landscaping. The scope of work includes preparing the site, relocating existing granite podiums, installing a new underground LPG tank and electrical services, constructing a reinforced concrete base vault structure for the cauldron, and fabricating and installing a dish-shaped sphere surround. The project also entails refurbishing the cauldron itself, ensuring its gas flame capability is operational, and installing interpretive elements and lighting. The refurbishment and installation are expected to be completed by December 2026, with site visits scheduled for June 23rd and a mandatory proposal conference on the same date.
