Description
Love Catalina Island Tourism Authority is seeking proposals for a statistically valid, year-round visitor profile and tourism economic impact research study. The selected firm must analyze eight visitor segments, including day and overnight visitors, cruise passengers, boaters and charters, helicopter visitors, airport arrivals, and passengers using two ferry operators. Required research includes visitor volumes and shares, seasonal patterns, spending by category, demographics, trip characteristics, origins, length of stay, and inputs for direct—and, if supported, indirect and induced—economic impact modeling. The proposed approach should be technology-forward, using methods such as anonymized mobile-location data, aggregated payment-card data, digital surveys, operator ticket data, lodging data, vessel or harbor data, consumer panels, or hybrid methods, while addressing statistical validity, privacy compliance, seasonal coverage, and smaller visitor segments. Deliverables include quarterly reports, an interactive dashboard if available, a comprehensive annual report with editable data tables and graphics, presentations, and methodology documentation. Proposals must include the listed technical, experience, team, timeline, budget, and reference sections, with at least three comparable client references; sample work is optional but encouraged.
