Description
The City of South San Francisco is seeking one or more qualified consulting firms to provide administrative support, building plan review and inspection, fire plan review and construction inspection, and specialized technical services. The scope includes commercial and residential projects, mixed-use and multistory construction, complex tenant improvements, biotechnology research and development projects, structural and accessibility review, fire protection and alarm systems, hazardous materials, high-piled storage, vegetation fuel modification, and related code consulting. Consultants must provide responsive staffing, digital plan-review capabilities, coordinated building and fire reviews, short-notice and weekend inspections when accepted, quarterly fire-prevention training when requested, and qualified personnel meeting specified experience and certification requirements, including CASp-certified building personnel. Proposals must address the firm's approach, project team, qualifications, references, scope and fee proposal, insurance readiness, and technology workflow. The anticipated term is July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2030, with up to two additional one-year extensions; the City may establish a pool of multiple consultants without guaranteeing assignments or compensation.
