Description
The City of Middletown is soliciting bids for approximately 4,300 tons of high-grade calcium quicklime for its Water Treatment Plant. The product must contain at least 89% available calcium oxide, meet specified limits for magnesium oxide, loss on ignition, carbonate solids, and siliceous residue, be 3/4-inch by 1/8-inch pebble size, be freshly burned and quick-slaking, and comply with applicable AWWA, ANSI/NSF Standard 60, FDA, and Ohio EPA requirements. Bidders must provide technical and chemical analyses, Material Safety Data Sheets, proof of drinking-water-treatment certification, and an affidavit confirming compliance with AWWA Standard B502-94. The awarded supplier must deliver approximately 25 tons per shipment within 72 hours after each order using blower-type tanker trucks with the specified unloading connection, provide certified weights, include freight in pricing, and clean up any unloading spills. The initial contract runs from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2027, with one optional 12-month renewal at the same prices and conditions.
