Description
The Town of Middletown and Middletown Public Library are requesting proposals for moving selected contents from the existing library at 700 West Main Road to the new library at 110 Enterprise Drive. The contractor must pack, load, transport, unpack, and place approximately 53,000 library volumes in call-number order on the new shelving, along with furniture, shelving, computers, printers, audiovisual and technology equipment, carts, cabinets, benches, signs, and outdoor equipment. Library staff will disconnect and reconnect technology; the mover is responsible for packing, transport, and placement. The mover must also pack and transport approximately 2,000 Friends of the Library volumes, which do not need to be reshelved, and may price the optional Friends of the Library move separately. The move must occur between January 28 and February 17, 2027, generally during 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The existing library will be closed during the move, and the loading dock at the new library will be available. The proposal must include the base price and Alternate No. 1 price, be submitted on company letterhead and signed by a corporate officer, and include the required proposal forms, notarized non-collusion affidavit, insurance certification, and five relevant governmental references. Prevailing-wage requirements and specified insurance coverage apply.
