Description
The City of Allentown is soliciting proposals for a consulting firm to review existing structural and masonry conservation reports; survey and assess the Rose Garden Ponds, WPA assets along MLK Jr. Drive, Park Drive Wall, Robin Hood Bridge abutments, and Iron Bridge abutments and wing walls; and prepare contract documents for each location. The documents must include annotated graphics identifying, quantifying, and specifying specialized masonry work for subsequent bidding by a qualified masonry contractor while protecting the historic character of the WPA structures. The selected consultant will also review prospective masonry contractors' work plans and qualifications with the City, provide three on-site meetings consisting of a kickoff, progress, and closeout meeting, and submit a brief project report and summary evaluation. Proposals must include separate technical and cost proposals; the technical proposal must address the firm's approach, schedule, relevant WPA and historic-structure experience, team qualifications, resumes, and proposed subcontractors. The contract has a one-year initial term with a possible one-year extension by written agreement.
