Description
This public works project upgrades the existing Well 4 facility that discharges groundwater to the Peck Reservoir. The work includes demolition of the existing well pump building, foundation, electrical equipment, well tubing, wellhead piping, and related appurtenances; construction of a new CMU pump building, concrete foundation and slab; installation of a new 75-horsepower well pump, tubing, wellhead, approximately 60 linear feet of 6- to 12-inch steel fusion-bonded-epoxy-lined discharge piping, pressure-sustaining and flow-metering equipment, a centrifugal liquid-solids separator, valves, instrumentation, and a 480-volt electrical system with pump VFD. Optional bid items cover demolition of the Well 4 chlorine facility and installation of PLC-0004. The contractor must coordinate with the City's controls integrator and concurrent chlorine-conversion work. PLC/SCADA programming is generally provided by the City or its integrator, while the contractor provides specified field wiring, instrumentation and controls hardware, testing, electrical work, temporary facilities, and coordination. The proposal requires the electronic PlanetBids bid form, bid security, subcontractor information, noncollusion affidavit, utility agreement, disqualification questionnaire, workers' compensation certification, bidder information, notarization, project history, critical staff history, and California Department of Industrial Relations certification. The base work is to be completed within 240 working days after the Notice to Proceed.
