Description
Chicago Public Schools is soliciting a prequalified contractor from its various-trades pool to replace an obsolete vacuum pump and failed steam trap at Perkins Bass Elementary School. The work includes demolition, installation of a new Russell VRP Duplex vacuum pump with tank and control panel, replacement of one bucket steam trap, piping modifications, pipe trims, necessary permits, and disposal of removed materials and construction debris. The contractor must field-verify conditions, coordinate the work with authorized CPS representatives, perform factory start-up and operational and safety testing, secure the job site, and leave the area clean and orderly. Materials and installation must comply with the specified CPS mechanical standards, including Sections 23 22 14 and 23 05 13. A completed and signed bid cover sheet is required; warranty information is required when applicable. For bids of $25,000 or more, a 5% bid bond is required, and bids of $50,000 or more must include the payment and performance bond premium. Bids of $75,000 or more require completion of the applicable MBE/WBE forms at bid time.
