Description
The University of Minnesota seeks a qualified design-build contractor to perform targeted remediation of failing windows on the west elevation of Nils Hasselmo Hall. The work includes glazing replacement, gasket and sealant repairs, replacement of pressure-plate components, review and resealing of internal zone dams and primary sealant joints, and related exterior building-envelope stabilization. Existing aluminum frames and curtainwall grid are generally to remain in place. The contractor is responsible for design and engineering, shop drawings, submittals, procurement, permits, construction, coordination of field testing, and a comprehensive system warranty. Work must minimize disruption to the occupied research, classroom, and administrative facility and include dust containment and interior protection. The RFP requires a 10-year written system warranty. The stated construction budget is $360,000, and the project must be substantially complete by May 28, 2027.
