Description
Broward County is soliciting bids for a fixed-quantity construction project to repair structural beams in the Judicial Complex West Tower. Work includes verifying existing conditions, installing scaffolding, core drilling and preparing surfaces, applying a fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) strengthening system, and installing engineered structural posts and base plates with anchorage from the 21st floor to the roof beam. The work also includes relocating HVAC, electrical, and fire alarm equipment as needed, applying corrosion protection, and coordinating structural inspections. The drawings and specifications provide project-specific repair details and require compliance with applicable building codes and safety standards. The solicitation requires a bid bond or alternate bid security equal to 5% of the bid price with the response. The successful bidder must provide performance and payment bonds after award. The bidder must hold a Florida Certified General Contractor license or a Broward County Class A General Building Contractor license registered with the state. The Special Instructions to Vendors state that the prime contractor must self-perform at least 100% of the total contract price.
