Description
The project is a design-bid-build construction contract to rehabilitate the taxiway and hangar areas at Christman Field. Work includes removing existing asphalt and concrete; excavation and embankment; subgrade reconditioning; aggregate base and asphalt pavement; a concrete pan, aircraft tie-downs, and tree removal; and electrical work. New pavement markings, signage, traffic control, and erosion control are also included. The contractor must provide full construction services and coordinate work around ongoing campus operations. The bid requires a 5% bid bond or equivalent security, and the awarded contractor must provide performance and payment bonds of at least 50% of the contract value when applicable. The project includes prevailing-wage and domestic-content requirements. Bidders must demonstrate experience on at least two similar projects, each exceeding $300,000 in hard costs, show bonding capacity up to $300,000, and attend and sign in at the mandatory site walk.
