Description
Pinellas County requires contractors to certify under section 287.139, Florida Statutes, that they will not use County funds awarded under a contract or grant, or paid as membership dues for County employees, to require employees, contractors, volunteers, vendors, or agents to ascribe to, study, or receive instruction using materials relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion as defined in section 125.595(1), Florida Statutes. The certification is a material condition of payment and must be maintained throughout the contract. Noncompliance may result in contract termination, withdrawal of grant or other funding, cancellation of County employee membership, or other legal remedies. The attached certification is to be completed and signed by an authorized contractor representative. The notice states that the certification applies to contracts, renewals, and extensions entered into on or after January 1, 2027.
