Description
The City of Taunton, through its Department of Procurement and Department of Public Works, is seeking qualifications from MassDOT-prequalified design and engineering firms for replacement of the Danforth Street Bridge. The scope includes bridge, roadway, pathway, structural, geotechnical, hydraulic and hydrologic, survey, traffic and safety, environmental, permitting, right-of-way, landscaping, and related engineering services. The selected firm must prepare designs through 100% design and plans, specifications, and estimates, provide electronic CAD and PDF deliverables, obtain required permits and approvals, and comply with MassDOT and Federal Highway Administration requirements. The project includes removal and replacement of the existing bridge, roadway reconstruction, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and traffic-safety improvements. The design fee may not exceed $1,250,000, and the contract term is three years from contract execution, potentially ending after bridge construction is complete. The complete design and documents are due by November 2027. The selected designer may be eligible to continue providing design services without further bidding, and the contract may be extended or amended as additional funds become available. Respondents must demonstrate relevant municipal and MassDOT experience, provide a technical qualifications proposal, references, resumes, and required certifications and forms.
