Description
California State University, Monterey Bay seeks a contractor to operate its shuttle service for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The contractor will provide drivers, supervisors, dispatch and operational support; operate university-owned buses on university-approved routes and schedules; and provide weekday, weekend, reduced summer and break-period, and authorized special-event service. The initial contract term is three years, with up to two one-year extensions, and service is scheduled to begin August 1, 2027. The contractor will maintain, clean, inspect, fuel or charge, and keep the university-owned fleet and onboard technology operational. Responsibilities also include staffing and driver training, safety and accessibility compliance, customer service, emergency coordination, real-time tracking and ridership reporting, and maintenance of operational records. Proposals must include a technical response and cost proposal using the provided cost sheet, along with the required evaluation responses and three references for similar projects. The solicitation requires proof of general liability, vehicle, and workers’ compensation insurance; it also specifies a minimum of five years of similar shuttle-service experience.
