Description
Santa Cruz County is soliciting construction bids for two storm-damage repair projects on Highland Way at Post Miles 5.60 and 5.80. The work includes two soldier pile retaining walls with timber lagging, excavation and backfill, steel piles and drilled holes, drainage modifications and plastic pipe, asphalt pavement and dikes, Midwest guardrail and terminal systems, erosion-control and revegetation measures, traffic control, clearing and grubbing, and contractor-supplied biological support. The project must be completed within 75 working days, and the estimated total cost is $640,000, consisting of approximately $386,000 for PM 5.60 and $254,000 for PM 5.80. A Class A contractor license and prevailing-wage compliance are required. The solicitation is a federal-aid project and requires a 10 percent bid security at bid submission. Only electronic bids are accepted through the OpenGov procurement portal; the original bid bond or check must be mailed after bid opening.
