Description
Santa Cruz County is soliciting electronic bids for repair of a storm-damaged roadway at Soquel San Jose Road Post Mile 5.55. The work includes soldier pile retaining walls with timber lagging, drilled holes and concrete backfill, roadway excavation and asphalt overlay, Midwest guardrail and alternative in-line terminal systems, erosion control and revegetation, temporary traffic control, water pollution control, and construction-area signage. The contractor must provide a Class A California contractor's license, comply with prevailing-wage requirements, and complete the work within 40 working days. The estimated project cost is $507,000. The project requires environmental protection measures, including qualified biological surveys and monitoring for foothill yellow-legged frogs and California red-legged frogs, nesting-bird surveys when applicable, and erosion and sediment controls. Bids must include the required bid forms and certifications, a bid security equal to at least 10 percent of the bid, and applicable subcontractor information. The contract also requires payment and performance bonds, insurance, and other post-award documents from the selected bidder.
