Description
The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service seeks a general contractor for the major renovation of the Science and Technology Mission Lab's Arthropod Quarantine Facility. The work includes upgrades to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; air-handling units, chillers, pumps, boilers, ductwork, exhaust systems, controls, ceilings, lighting, doors, plumbing fixtures, roofing, interior finishes, laboratory casework, fume hoods, access-control coordination, and commissioning. The facility is a high-security containment site supporting biological-control programs, insect-strain development, and invasive-species testing. Amendment 4 extends the proposal deadline to September 9, 2026, at noon Central Time. It also provides initial asbestos test results: asbestos was detected in certain resilient floor tile and mastic samples and in drywall joint compound and texture; additional test results are forthcoming. Offers must acknowledge the amendment as specified in the solicitation.
