Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with Vanderbilt University Medical Center for Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) oversight and support services for the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System. The work will oversee animal care and use programs, ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations and VA policies, safeguard animal welfare, and support the scientific integrity and documentation of approved research projects. The notice states that Vanderbilt's IACUC is the only center in Tennessee with the capacity to perform the work and identifies Vanderbilt as the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System's primary academic affiliate. The anticipated contract includes a base year and four option years. This is a pre-solicitation notice and not an active solicitation; the agency may determine, at its discretion, whether responses warrant a competitive procurement.
