Description
Westchester Community College seeks a contractor for a five-year program covering annual inspection and service of approximately 440 fire extinguishers at the main Valhalla campus and approximately 40 extinguishers at five extension centers. The work includes inspection, tagging, gauge checks, recharging, required six- and twelve-year pressure testing, replacement of damaged or obsolete units with loaners or serviced spares, and installation of missing or damaged mounting brackets and signs. The contractor must provide detailed service reports identifying dates, locations, tasks, units, findings, and recommendations. The scope also requires semiannual inspection and tagging of seven chemical fire suppression systems, including wet-chemical kitchen systems and dry-chemical systems. Work must comply with applicable National Fire Protection Association and New York State requirements, and necessary repairs are outside this scope. The contractor must coordinate visits with college personnel, provide labor, materials, tools, equipment, insurance, and related costs, and submit separate invoices for extinguisher and suppression-system services. Prevailing-wage and insurance requirements apply.
