Description
IDEA Public Schools is soliciting a lump-sum proposal for mechanical upgrades at its San Benito campus. The work includes replacing DX air-handling units and air-cooled condensing units, modifying or replacing related refrigerant piping, insulation, ductwork, electrical systems, and controls, and installing a new building automation system. The base proposal uses ALC WebCTRL controls; an alternate proposal may use JCI Metasys. Some existing equipment, wiring, and refrigerant piping are to be retained and reused as specified. The contractor must provide a complete operational system, including testing, adjusting, and balancing; commissioning support and functional testing; and operator training. A 5% bid security is required with the proposal. Performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the contract value, are required after contract issuance. The proposal evaluation includes price, firm experience and key personnel, K–12 construction experience, and prior experience with the project team.
