Description
The City of Bangor is soliciting sealed bids for construction of a new six-foot-wide sidewalk along approximately 0.45 miles of Mount Hope Avenue, from near Saratoga Avenue toward Hogan Road. The work includes tree clearing and trimming; excavation, fill, aggregate base, hot-mix asphalt sidewalk and roadway paving; ditch regrading; concrete slipform curbing; ADA-compliant detectable warning fields; loam, seeding, and mulching; pavement and curb markings; sign and mailbox relocation; maintenance of traffic; and temporary soil erosion and water pollution controls. The project also includes storm-drain improvements consisting of approximately 1,663 linear feet of storm drain in multiple diameters, 15 catch basins, four drain manholes, removal of an existing culvert, and related utility and roadway restoration. Bidders must submit the prescribed bid form with unit prices, a 5% bid security, the MaineDOT Bidder's List Form, and required acknowledgments and certifications. The apparent low bidder may be required to provide references from at least three similar projects. Work must be completed by September 30, 2027, with liquidated damages of $650 per calendar day for late completion.
