Description
The City of Tacoma, through Tacoma Water, is conducting a two-step Request for Qualifications process to select a design-builder for a progressive design-build project. The scope includes design and construction of a 3–4 million-gallon above-ground drinking-water reservoir serving the 810 pressure zone and an approximately 3,000-gallon-per-minute below-ground booster pump station serving the 950 pressure zone. Work may include validation of owner information and criteria, project scoping, design, cost estimating, life-cycle and value analysis, constructability analysis, permitting, procurement, scheduling, commissioning, testing, and construction of related improvements. The City expects to shortlist up to three finalists for a subsequent Request for Proposals. Statements of Qualifications must address team qualifications and past performance, key personnel, project controls and guaranteed maximum price development, disadvantaged-business utilization performance, and identified similar projects. The estimated project value is $17,000,000, excluding applicable taxes. Finalists submitting responsive proposals but not receiving the contract will be paid a $5,000 honorarium.
