Description
King County is soliciting bids for durable fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) puncheons for its park and trail facilities. The design documents show 4-foot, 6-foot, and 8-foot puncheon configurations, with FRP rectangular tubes, channels, decking or grating, diamond piers, connections, and guardrail-related components. Approved equivalent FRP decking and structural sections may be proposed subject to engineering review and approval. The contract documents require compliance with specified structural design criteria and standards, including ASCE 74 for pultruded FRP structures. Suppliers or contractors must provide structural FRP shop and erection drawings before fabrication or construction and are responsible for verifying dimensions, site conditions, connections, temporary bracing, safety, and installation-related requirements.
