Description
The Cities of Ruston and University Place are jointly soliciting proposals from qualified attorneys, law firms, nonprofit entities, and public agencies to provide primary public defense and/or on-call conflict counsel services for indigent defendants charged by either city in Pierce County District Court. Services include representation from appointment through final resolution, including arraignments, pretrial hearings, motions, trials, sentencing, post-sentence hearings, probation reviews, and appeals through the point of filing. Providers must meet Washington Supreme Court Standards for Indigent Defense and applicable professional and court requirements, maintain appropriate client access and emergency contact procedures, and support clients in custody and clients requiring social-service referrals.
