Description
The Merrimack Valley Planning Commission is leading a cooperative invitation for bid from qualified firms to supply highway road salt, including rock salt and solar salt, on behalf of participating municipalities in Essex County, Massachusetts. Eligible communities include Amesbury, Boxford, Essex, Georgetown, Gloucester, Groveland, Hamilton, Haverhill, Ipswich, Lynnfield, Manchester by the Sea, Merrimac, Middleton, Nahant, Newbury, Newburyport, Peabody, Rockport, Rowley, Salem, Salisbury, Saugus, Swampscott, Topsfield, Wenham, and West Newbury. Sealed bids are due by 12:00 p.m. on September 21, 2026, when they will be publicly opened and read. The bid documents are available from the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission website and CommBuys. Questions must be submitted by email or phone to Patrick Reed. The buyer reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
