Description
The City of Brookhaven and the Brookhaven Arts and Culture Commission, in partnership with DeKalb County, seek artists to design and paint a prefabricated fiberglass cow sculpture for public display. The selected artist will collaborate with the Arts and Culture Commission and City staff to finalize the design, prepare the epoxy-primed surface, paint the sculpture off-site at a city-owned location, and apply an anti-vandalism clear coat. The City will provide paint and related supplies and will handle transport and permanent installation. Proposals must include a cover letter, executive summary, artist biography or portfolio, at least two preliminary designs in JPEG, PDF, or PNG format, a narrative description and statement of approach, a long-term maintenance plan, and an itemized cost estimate. The selected artist will receive a total compensation of $3,000, subject to the City's right to negotiate final compensation. The work is expected to be completed by October 26, 2026, and the City may request up to three design revisions.
