Description
The Air Force Sustainment Center is soliciting one portable handheld XRF spectrometer for alloy analysis. The required instrument must analyze elements from magnesium through uranium, provide light-element analysis without helium purge or vacuum, deliver approximately 1–2 second analysis times, use an X-ray tube rated at least 50 kV and 200 mA with a silver anode, and include two Li-ion batteries, charger, AC adapter, general-metals calibration, two integrated CCD cameras, and alloy libraries based on SAE, AISI, ASTM, AA, DIN, and GB standards. The instrument must connect to a computer for downloading scans and results and include software for managing them. The solicitation requires the vendor to complete and wet-sign the pricing and delivery information, provide documentation verifying compliance with the item description, and submit one completed copy. Although the notice describes the requirement as brand name or equal, the solicitation states that substitute or equal items will not be considered and identifies the acquisition as a total small-business set-aside.
