Description
The Fiscal Year 2026 Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Research Program (DMDRP) Clinical/Translational Research Award (CTRA) supports advanced translational research aimed at accelerating promising Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) research ideas toward clinical applications. Research must address at least one of the specified focus areas, and projects investigating therapies effective across the lifespan are encouraged. The award offers two funding levels: Funding Level 1 for smaller, less complex preclinical and/or clinical research, and Funding Level 2 for larger, more complex projects. Additionally, a Partnering PI Option (PPIO) is available to support collaborations between two investigators, with categories for early-career investigators and established interdisciplinary investigators seeking to transition into DMD research. Preliminary data is required for all applications. Pilot clinical trials and clinical trial readiness studies are permitted. The program expects to fund approximately 6 awards with a total estimated program funding of $8,460,000.
