Description
The University of Maine System, acting through the University of Southern Maine, is seeking qualifications from public-private partnership teams to redevelop the Sullivan Center Complex for campus recreation and related mixed-use needs. The project is expected to provide approximately 47,000 square feet of on-campus recreation space, including weight and fitness areas, cardiovascular equipment, gymnasium space, multipurpose activity rooms, locker rooms, and meeting space. The redevelopment must address significant deferred maintenance, preserve existing parking capacity, maintain access to the Science Building loading dock, and account for existing Facilities Management, Health Services, Media Studies, and Event Services functions. Respondents must demonstrate experience with university and public-private partnership development, recreation and athletics facilities, sustainability and accessibility, facility operations and maintenance, and project financing. The qualifications package must include team composition, technical capability, at least four recent comparable projects and references, and a preliminary project approach addressing development, financing, operations, maintenance, funding sources, regulatory approvals, community engagement, and scheduling. The total response is limited to 25 pages of text and graphics, with resumes permitted as appendices.
