Greater Portland Transit District (METRO) is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the manufacture and delivery of fifteen (15) 35-foot heavy-duty low-floor transit buses, with an option for up to eight (8) additional buses. The base order includes six diesel buses for Contract Year 1 (2026), five diesel or hybrid diesel buses for Contract Year 2 (2027), and four diesel or hybrid diesel buses for Contract Year 3 (2028). The optional order allows for up to eight additional diesel or hybrid diesel buses across Contract Years 1-3. Buses must comply with detailed technical specifications including FMVSS, Buy America requirements, FTA bus testing, and warranty provisions. The contract is funded in part by an FTA Section 5307 grant and will be a firm-fixed price contract. Proposals must be submitted electronically via Colbi Secure Bids and in paper form by October 6, 2026.
