Description
The project involves replacing Big Meadow Bridge #0064 over Meadow Brook on Route 169/Springfield Road in T8 R3 NBPP, Maine. The existing steel plate pipe arch will be removed and replaced with an 84-foot-long, 20-foot-span by 8-foot-rise precast concrete box culvert. Work includes excavation, cofferdams and dewatering, streambed and riprap construction, erosion and water-pollution controls, roadway reconstruction and hot-mix asphalt paving, guardrail and end treatments, pavement markings, a temporary on-site detour bridge, and temporary traffic signals. The contractor must perform in-water work within the specified seasonal window, maintain access to the gravel field entrance, protect Meadow Brook and adjacent wetlands, and comply with environmental, traffic-control, prevailing-wage, quality-control, and federal-aid requirements. The project includes a 30 percent minimum self-performance requirement, 100 percent performance and payment bonds, and a 5 percent bid guaranty. The contract completion date is June 23, 2028, with substantial completion required by November 15, 2027.
