Description
The City of Hendersonville is accepting bids for the Autumn Creek Streambank Stabilization and Improvements project. Work includes temporary access routes and stream crossings using timber mats or geotextile-backed gravel; selective clearing and grubbing; channel excavation to construct upper and lower benches, restore positive drainage, and remove sediment; heavy boulder bank stabilization keyed into the channel toe; placement of stream boulders; perimeter sediment controls; and complete restoration with temporary and permanent seeding, heavy-duty jute erosion-control blankets, lawn dressing, access-route cleanup, and replacement of damaged concrete sidewalks. An optional bid item has been added for a post-construction survey, including a CAD terrain model and supporting files. Construction must occur on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Stream excavation is limited to dry conditions and requires a 48-hour wait after rain, while in-stream work is prohibited from December 15 through June 1 to protect wildlife. Motorized equipment requires city approval, and the addendum confirms that each longitudinal stone-protection boulder must weigh at least 400 pounds; excavated material used for this work must be removed and disposed of off-site at the contractor's expense. The project references Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Permit No. NR2604.179. The City may use grant funding, in which case applicable federal requirements, including 2 CFR Part 200 provisions, may apply.
