Description
The City of Hendersonville seeks proposals from experienced artists to design, construct, ship, and install a public-art display featuring four life-size bronze statues depicting Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash, Roy Orbison, and Conway Twitty. The display is also expected to include a pedestal-mounted bronze microphone and may include one or more bronze musical instruments. The scope includes detailed plans with multiple iterations, 3D maquettes for approval, historically accurate likenesses, bronze treatments and patinas, outdoor-rated materials and finishes, permanent attachment hardware, shipping, and installation. The concrete foundation is excluded and will be provided separately by the City. Proposals must include the artist's resume and relevant experience, descriptions and images of comparable life-size bronze or figurative sculpture projects, references, itemized pricing, an estimated completion timeline, conceptual sketches or renderings, durability and warranty information, and any price-escalation schedule for a Notice to Proceed issued in 2028 or 2029. Proposals are limited to 20 single-sided pages, including the cover page and table of contents. Evaluation is based on relevant experience, artistic ability and figurative likeness, proposed concept and visitor experience, and cost.
