Description
The City of Franklin is soliciting a unit-price construction bid for improvements at the intersections of Mack Hatcher Memorial Parkway with Hillsboro Road and Del Rio Pike. The work includes adding eastbound and westbound through lanes at Del Rio Pike, adding westbound through lanes at Hillsboro Road, modifying traffic signal equipment at Hillsboro Road, and furnishing all required labor, materials, equipment, erosion and sediment controls, grading, excavation, aggregate base, asphalt paving, curb and gutter, guardrail, traffic control devices, pavement markings, raised pavement markers, seeding, and project mobilization. The bid includes 62 line items and a $150,000 project contingency used only as directed by the City. A 5% bid bond is required, and the successful bidder must furnish performance and payment bonds each in an amount at least equal to the contract price, along with specified insurance. The work must be substantially complete within 180 days after the Notice to Proceed and finally complete within 30 days after substantial completion. The contractor must complete the Hillsboro Road work before beginning the Del Rio Pike work and must coordinate lane closures and erosion-control requirements with the City.
