Description
This expressions-of-interest solicitation seeks qualified construction contractors for a $2.5 million–$2.7 million upgrade to the gymnasium facilities at CUNY John Jay College's Haaren Hall. The scope includes removing existing wood flooring in both gymnasiums; preparing the concrete slab and installing a vapor barrier; installing new maple hardwood flooring with NCAA court markings and the college logo; replacing wall-protection padding, balcony-soffit aluminum cladding, selected doors and frames; priming and painting doors that are not replaced; replacing the bleachers with powered telescoping bleachers; and installing new floor-box receptacles and outlets. Respondents must submit an EOI qualification package. The package must include company information, at least five years of similar experience, five comparable projects completed or substantially completed within the last ten years, three sample project schedules, a safety program and safety personnel resume, proposed project-team resumes, potential subcontractor information, anticipated workload, an experience-modification-rating letter, a bonding-capacity letter, and the New York State Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire for-profit construction form. Firms deemed qualified will be shortlisted and invited to submit a future construction bid; the referenced drawings and specifications are not final bid documents. Anticipated participation goals are 45% minority and women workforce participation, 18% Minority Business Enterprise participation, 12% Women's Business Enterprise participation, and 6% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business participation, with final goals to be determined in the bid documents.
