Description
The North Carolina Global TransPark Authority is soliciting a contractor for a clearing and grubbing project at Kinston Regional Jetport. The work includes mobilization; airport safety and security; survey and stakeout; installation and removal of approximately 10,160 linear feet of silt fence; five construction entrances; clearing and grubbing approximately 43 acres; seeding approximately 43 acres; and mulching approximately 43 acres. Work also includes debris disposal, dust and foreign-object-debris control, haul-route and staging-area maintenance, site restoration, and compliance with airport operational safety, erosion-control, permitting, and applicable prevailing-wage requirements. The project is issued for bid and is not released for construction. The specifications state a maximum construction time of 60 consecutive calendar days, while the project phasing materials also describe a 90-calendar-day phase; bidders should resolve this apparent discrepancy through the formal question process. A 5% bid bond is required, along with 100% performance and payment bonds after award. The prime contractor must be NCDOT-prequalified and perform at least 40% of the work with its own organization. No DBE, MBE, or WBE contract goal is required.
